Cranium Club

What is Cranium Club?
Cranium Club is an educational opportunity available to all students in my classroom.  It is composed of 100 educational challenges that students complete on their own time.  Challenges vary in topic.  There are educational challenges available in History & Geography, Mathematics, The English Language, Science, and a Miscellaneous category.  Cranium Club reviews important concepts from previous years, topics in the 3rd grade curriculum, and (for a real challenge) concepts from upper elementary and Middle School too!
How does Cranium Club work?
Students choose one of the 100 educational challenges.  They research their responses to ensure accuracy using a computer, books, notes, etc.  All challenges responses MUST be memorized. Students complete a Cranium Club challenge sheet and put it in Witherell's mailbox.  No resources (besides what's in your cranium!) may be used when filling out the challenge sheet.  If all of the responses are correct, students earn credit for that one educational challenge.

After 25 completed challenges, students are inducted into Cranium Club.  Students receive a certificate of induction, a spot on the Cranium Club Wall of Fame (forever!), and an Official Membership card, which they can show at random Cranium Club Membership reward times. Students "level up" as they complete more challenges.  After successfully completing 25 challenges, for example, students become a Silver member.  After 50--Gold, and so forth.
